Making the Hospital Safe

Many people who have looked at the new nurses' home at Cook Hospital towering over sloping ground which last winter began to move downhill, partly blocking the road to the hospital, expressed the layman's furtive fear that the day might come when the big building toppled downhill too. Such fears do not have much foundation in the investigations of engineers, but to stabilise the slip work has now started on the job of clearing and properly draining the area. In the course of the work, most of the trees planted on the slope will be bulldozed away.
