Horticultural Show

The Army Hall was a gay place recently when the Poverty Bay Horticultural Society held its annual rose and iris show. The entries totalled 800, far more than the previous highest figure. The show coincided with the annual convention of the New Zealand Iris Society, being held in Gisborne (see pictures elsewhere), and the more than 100 visitors to the convention from other parts of New Zealand and overseas, attended the display.
