Inspector F. W. Edwards, officer in charge of the Gisborne police District, with Mrs Edwards. Inspector Edwards, who succeeded Inspector W. R. Murray to this post, is a member of a family with a long record of service in the police force. Three of his brothers have served in the force, two achieving the rank of superintendent, and Inspector Edwards also has a son who is a constable in Auckland. One brother, Inspector G. B. Edwards, was in charge of the Gisborne district from 1937 to 1940.

Mr and Mrs F. J. Figg and family, of De Lautour Road, who have left Gisborne to reside in Napier. They were farewelled by a number of organisations before their departure, including the members of St. Paul's Church, Manchester Unity Lodge, Girl Guides Association, Kaiti Residents Progressive Association, Kaiti Indoor Bowling Club, and the staff of Wards' Transport.
