Lytton Road Bridge Nearly Ready

Judging by progress made this month, the opening of the Lytton Road bridge should not be far away. It will materially help the present congestion at the Peel Street bridge, which, as the only city bridge across the Taruheru River open for motor traffic, has been carrying all traffic wishing to cross the river.

The last span of the concrete–beam bridge was poured last Friday. Two concrete mixers, below, delivered half a yard of concrete each every 3 minutes throughout long day to complete the pour.
