A picture taken by Mr H. Conway, Maori Affairs Department, at the first field day of the newly–formed East Coast Farm Forestry Association held recently at the showground. Left to right, those present are Messrs Chrisp, Martin, Mapleton, price, Cresswell, Berry, Greaves (obscured), Holdsworth, Richardson, Faulkner, Pyke, Graham, Taylor, Moore, and Dunn. The group comprises men prominent in the State Forest Service, Crown Lands and Maori Affairs Departments, farming, sawmilling, and allied trades. The association has been formed to advance knowledge of tree growing and timber conversion and to encourage farm shelter plantings, etc.
