Basketball Tourney

Basketball teams from far and wide converged on Gisborne on Queen's Birthday for the annual Bowie Cup tournament. The only East Coast team, Eupohatu, from Ruatoria, won the cup. Surprise of the tournament was the performance of St. Mary's B.6. who first beat their own A.1 team, and then H.S.O.G. A.l. But in the final, they found the Ruatoria girls too much for them, and lost out by 22 goals to 12.
