Big money is involved in the war against opossums in Waikohu County. This picture from D. S. Aitkenhead, Te Karaka, shows a pile of opossum tokens in the county yard (a strip of skin about 9in. long, and both ears). Each token is worth 2/6, and in one month 11,462 tokens were paid for.
