Assembly Hall Wanted

A petition is at present being circulated to emphasise the need for an assembly hall at the Gisborne Girls High School. It is understood that Gisborne is yet a long way down the list of those schools requiring assembly halls, and the organisers of the petition feel that a concerted appeal to the Minister for Education may help to speed up the provision of this much-needed facility.

Since the new girls school was opened in Gisborne, the pupils have assembled in the open, where their morning devotions have been very much at the mercy of the weather.
