Mr and Mrs W. C. Nisbett, Cobden Street, who celebrated their 65th (platinum) wedding anniversary recently. Mr and Mrs Nisbett received congratulatory messages from Her Majesty the Queen, the Governor-General and Lady Norrie, the Prime Minister, Mr Holland, and the Leader of the Opposition, Mr Nash. At a family gathering, with the Rev. J. K. Fairbairn as master of ceremonies, the guests included the Mayor and Mayoress, Mr and Mrs H. H. Barker, and the Member for the District, Mr R. A. Keeling. Mr and Mrs Nisbett, who are 90 and 89 years old respectively, keep remarkably well and attend to the affairs of their home unaided.
