For Meritorious Service

At the American Embassy in Wellington last month, Lieutenant William Watson, a former New Zealand Army air observer, was presented with the United States Air Medal for his services while attached to the U.S. 6148th Tactical Control squadron in Korea. Lieutenant Watson, who is a farmer at Te Karaka, is shown receiving his decoration from Mr Samuel D. Berger, Charge d'Affaire at the American Embassy.
