Remarkable Display By Scouts

For many of those who attended the Autumn Carnival at the showgrounds last month, the display of crafts by the Scouts proved one of the most interesting seen during the day.

While members of Cub packs took part in team games round the fringes of the ring, Scouts from Gisborne troops erected a signalling tower, a bridge, and a tent on a platform. Others gave demonstrations of how to scale a 12ft wall, and improvisations of ambulance work.

The display showed the great variety of work taught in the Scout movement, much of which could prove of value in emergencies.
