A Fight to a Finish

Among the entertainments presented at the surf life-saving clubs' contest at Churchill Park beach last month was a good old-fashioned pillow fight. In the men's contest, Charlie Bradley (Wainui Club) downed all comers, began to look as though he owned the blanket-covered pole (see picture elsewhere). The girls were represented by Shirley Jones (facing camera) and Pam Low. Although Shirley was convulsed with laughter throughout, she managed to stay aloft longer.
