Readers of "Photo News"have probably seen dogs standing unconcerned on speeding trucks, but how many have seen a horse which will do that?
Len Jacobs, of Matawai has a horse which will ride anywhere on the tray of an open truck—what you might call an equestrian hitch-hiker.
Picture at right, by Alex Fletcher, Waipaoa, shows horse ready for truck ride. Len is a drover, and he finds a lift handy to get to jobs. It's easier for both horse and rider.
This is Vicki Irvine's idea of what constitutes a good summer get-up for Davy Crockett. Vicki, who is five and thinks it would be fun to be a boy, was snapped here on the quiet by sister Jenny, aged 11.
