On the occasion of the 80th birthday of Mrs Edith Peach, 50 Oak Street, members of her family gathered for a. reunion. All belong to Gisborne except members of the Curtis family, who live in Cambridge. Seated are Mrs J. Lamont, Rosalie Sangwell, Mrs S. Vera Kelly, daughter of Mr and Mrs E. G. Kelly, 527 Childers Road, who has been nursing in Australia. She spent six months as relieving sister at Concord Hospital, Sydney, and is now concluding a term at Heidelburg Hospital, Melbourne. She hopes to visit Tasmania and Fiji before returning to New Zealand next June.

Charlie Bradley, undisputed king of the "greasy" pole at Waikanae Beach, downed 25 aspirants for his title. Charlie, a member of the Wainui Surf Club, recently won Stoneham Cup for annual river race.
