The Rev. W. H. Gregory, formerly of Napier, who has been ordained as assistant priest of Holy Trinity Church, Gisborne.
He succeeds the Rev. C. B. Robinson, who has been appointed Vicar of Te Karaka.
Mr Robinson read the litany at the ordination service, which was presided over by the Bishop of Waiapu, the Rt. Rev. N. A. Lesser.
The Rev. V. M. Edmonds, Vicar of Wairoa, preached the sermon.

Miss C. Kay, Wainui Road, who has retired after 27 years" service with the Gisborne branch of Dalgety and Co.
During World War I, Miss Kay served in Britain with the women's auxiliary of the Royal Flying Corps, and joined the W.A.A.C. in N.Z. during the last war.

Captain J. F. Kearney, who has taken up duties as sub-area officer of the Army Department, Gisborne. Captain Kearney was formerly adjutant of the Hawke"s Bay Regiment and sub-area officer, Hastings.
He went to Fiji with the 30th Battalion in 1940 and served in the Pacific until May, 1944.

W.O.II. Bob Sloan, sub-area officer since 1949, who has retired from the Army and joined the Inland Revenue Department.

Mr Ru Clark, senior clerk in the money order branch of the Gisborne Post Office, who has been transferred on promotion to Whangarei. Mr Clark, pictured here with his family, came to Gisborne in 1937. He was a member of many district organisations.
