School Crossing Problem

Gisborne traffic officers are worried about some motorists' failure to stop when signalled to do so by school patrols at pedestrian crossings.

School crossings differ from ordinary ones in that traffic travelling in both directions must stop when the signs are raised. Traffic Officer L. N. Hutchison, schools instructor, pictured below, believes that ignorance of that point is the reason for too–frequent breaches.
