Public Health Unit

The Tairawhiti Healthcare Public Health Unit hasan important role to play in primary and family health in the future. With the opening of the new premises in the old MAF building on the corner of Bright Street and Childers Rd, all services are together for the first time, with easier access and an adjacent carpark which will be appreciated by the public. Nationally recognised for its new initiatives, the PHU has a closer working relationship with the Gisborne District Council, eliminating unnecessary duplication and delivering appropriate health services for the benefit of the whole community
