H.M.S. Pinafore

14

Initiative and a fine team spirit had their reward this month for a big group of willing workers at the Gisborne High School.

Teachers and pupils joined forces in a production of "H.M.S. Pinafore" which even Gilbert and Sullivan would surely have enjoyed.

It was an ambitious project, replacing the usual annual school concert, but results proved that the change was completely justified.

With the school providing the music, scenery, posters, and the talent, Gisborne High is rightly proud of its operatic venture

Written in 1878, "H.M.S. Pinafore" has always been one of the more popular Gilbert and Sullivan operas. And it lost none of its gay charm in the Gisborne High School production.
