Growing interest among schools in the sport of soccer has assured a healthy future for association football in the Gisborne district. One indication of the trend was a trip to Huntly recently by two Poverty Bay schoolboy teams. The 10 and under team won, 1-0, and the 12 and under team lost, 0-1.
