Roving Camera

An improved standard in the work of local artists was a feature of the annual exhibition of the Gisborne Art Society held recently in the society's gallery in Stout Street. Most dominant impression was given by the use of bright colours in both oil and water-colour work.

The workmen pictured here are busy sorting out a problem — how to move a big excavator from one side of a creek to the other.
The operation was part of the work involved in building a crib wall on a section of Upper Stout Street between Elm and Pine Streets, Erosion of the bank has been threatening the road.

Two Gisborne Veterinary Club officers pictured at the two-day farm school held recently are Mr David McFarlane, senior veterinarian, and Mr Lawson Field, club president.
