Cars In The Night
Gisborne Car Club members who enter a night trial are in for a stringent test of their ability to judge distance and speed. On the last night in June, large numbers of them set out at the drop of a flag to follow a course which took them to Matawhero, Bushmere back to Gisborne, up the coast road to Turihaua, and back to Gisborne again. The route was divided into eight sections, for each of which an average speed is laid down. Each section has a checking point, and the driver who can run closest to schedule all the way is the winner.
