SPORTS INITIATIVE

The Shamrock Club was formed to develop and maintain a high standard of people involved in sport in this district. The Schoolboy Rugby Union Coaching Clinic employed the skills of locals Graeme Torrie, Grant Allen and Ian Kirkpatrick, with Kevin Green and Graeme Purvis from the Waikato and Gordon Tietjens from the Bay of Plenty.
