Changing Face of Gisborne

The latest addition to the changing face of Gisborne is the PAK 'N SAVE Supermarket. Local contractors Story and Lomas had a major part in the construction of this multi million dollar building with its 47000 sq feet of fully airconditioned space.

Pittar and Barker, P.B. Wine and Spirits, Campbell's Radio, Midway Post Office and Bank of New South Wales are names associated, with these buildings which have been demolished.

Hundreds of people were drawn to the opening ceremony. Our camera caught some of the crowd as they waited for the Mayoress Barbara Clarke to cut the ribbon. After the ceremony it was time to move inside in search of bargains.
