Mr Bill Peach of Endcliffe Road has retired from the Gisborne branch of Robert Holt & Sons Ltd after spending 40 years in the timber industry.Mr Peach, who was suitably honoured at a farewell function, plans to keep up his life-long interest in tramping, and gardening.

After 19 years in the Hygienic Dairy on the corner of Ormond Road and Ballance Street its owners. Pang and Nita Chan, have sold out. They are still to live in Gisborne, however, and will manage the Channels Private Hotel & Motel.On reflection this makes them the longest individual seller of Photo News in the suburban areas. With Mr and Mrs Chan are their daughter Alda, and sons David and Trevor.

From Mr Tako Sadlier, of 518 Wainui Road we have this four generation photo of members of his family. They are, from left, in front, Mr Pote Matengaro Sadlier (great-grandfather), Tako ("Stag") Sadlier (grandfather), and at back Mark Sadlier (grandson) and Mark jnr., (great-grandson).
