Hefty Load

Although it is more often than not that the Turanganui River bridge appears to be little used, in actual fact a vast tonnage of goods passes over the structure during the course of a year. Goods and freight of all description are hauled by diesel locomotive and some of the trains are pretty substantial, as can be seen here.
