Following in the footsteps of Hone Heke (?) Stan Fawcett of 15 Taruheru Crescent makes a valiant attempt to cut down the flagpole on Flagstaff Hill at Russell. Needless to say, the attempt didn't come off. Anyway, it didn't stop Stan from enjoying his holiday!
