Mouranga, T. Korau, R. Campbell and T. Puia. At back: R. Hauiti, J. Hazel, R. Bristowe, H. Ruwhiu, A. Apanui, H.Crawford, J. McClutchie, and two unidentified men. The picture was taken in front of the Te Araroa meeting-house and all the men attended the Te Araroa School.

From an old glass plate comes this picture of a farm house in the country, whereabouts unknown. The old glass plate was found, with a box of others, under an old house, so we have no relative information. However, hazarding a guess, this building would probably have cost about 450 pounds in those days, a far cry from the building costs of today. So, from this old picture we have an interesting exercise in the trends of inflation, if nothing else!
