Pat, well known in Gisborne as a comedian and ventriloquist, is working with a theatrical publicity firm. Marc is a London reporter.

Mr H. F. Wise, who has been elected a life member of the Gisborne Art Society. Mr Wise's big contribution to the work of the society was outlined by the president, Dr A. L. Singer, at the annual meeting.

Mr W. B. Turbitt, who has been appointed a Justice of the Peace. Mr Turbitt is an employee and member of the Power Board, a city councillor and a member of the Fire Board.

Marc Alexander, former Gisborne journalist, and Pat Andrew, of Wairoa, pictured as they set out on a 1000-mile scooter tour of Belgium, Holland, North Germany and Denmark. They share a flat in London's Soho district.

Mrs Maraea Ngarimu and Miss H. Ngarimu, mother and sister of the late 2nd-Lieut. M. Ngarimu, V.C. They have been in Britain to represent the Maori race at London celebrations marking the centennial of the V.C. Order. Maoris of this district gathered in Gisborne recently to farewell them.

Alan Ward, ex-pupil of Te Karaka District High School and former dux of Gisborne High, receives congratulations from Dr G. Currie, Vice-Chancellor of the University of N.Z., after the B.A. degree had been conferred on him in Wellington. He was senior scholar in history for 1956.
