At The Intermediate...

Reorganisation of the art room and library is among recent improvements to the already modern Gisborne Intermediate School.

The bright, spacious set-up of the art room can be seen in the picture above.

Members of the teaching staff worked hard in the woodwork room to refurnish the library. They converted an old-fashioned, bulky bookcase into the "island" book stands shown in the picture below.

The school library, among the best in the district, contains 3000 books. And, with the aid of the National Library Service, the collection is still growing.
Almost all of the school's 730 pupils use the library. Pictured here are Ian Haisman, Clive Greenall, Ross Nicklin, Alison Muir, Joan Robinson and Zona McDonald.
