Car Club Awards

The Gisborne Car Club held a very enjoyable end-of-season cabaret and prizegiving recently. A good crowd of members attended the function to enjoy themselves and applaud the winners of the trophies.

Among the recipients were, Merv Merritt, who was judged Car Club Sportsman of the Year. He receives the cup from Mrs Patricia Kwak. At left is club president George Parker and at right vice-president Hans Kwak.

Other trophy winners included, from left: Sue Reichenbach (Sportswoman of the Year, and Ladies' points cup); Neil Gooch (standard saloon 750-1100cc sprint); and Dennis Willson (standard saloon 3000cc and over — winner hill climb and fastest time of the day at 40.15secs, and winner sprint).
