Not The End Of It

The wind and sea damage pictures of the June storm (pages 30 and 31) weren't the beginning of it, and not the end either!

Heaps of driftwood were left piled up all along the beaches. In front of the Waikanae pavilion a few more feet of sand were eaten away.

One of the most spectacular sights came after the storm when it was found that painter Jack Cooch's caravan at Tatapouri had been lifted bodily and completely smashed. So much for the force of the sea, and the wind!
