Rare Object

A Gisborne resident is the owner of this very rare Masonic ornament. It was brought out from Scotland by grandparents many years ago and when seen here by the Grand Master Mason of Scotland, David Liddell-Grainger, on a visit a couple of years back, he said that as far as he knew there were only six in the world.

The six part ornament, which folds up into a perfect sphere and can be worn on a fine chain, has a diameter of three-quarters of an inch.

Unfolded, the ornament takes the shape of a cross, each facet being engraved with a Masonic symbol.
