At the Chrysanthemum Show

Chrysanthemums were not the only good thing to look at in the Army Hall last month when the P.B. Horticultural Society held its annual chrysanthemum show. The blooms were the main attraction, but on the side there were fine shows of fruit and vegetables.

Although the entry of blooms was not large, the exhibits were of a high standard. In the decorative section these two entries from Mrs L. Eade, Makaraka, earned high praise.

This magnificent pyramid of Gisborne apples was displayed at the show by the Poverty Bay Fruitgrowers' Association. It was the first time the fruitgrowers had exhibited at the show, and their exhibit was one of the outstanding displays.
