A very enjoyable Golden wedding celebration was held in the Odd fellows Hall for Mr and Mrs G. Torrie. Mr and Mrs Torrie, who live in Dryden Street, are pictured at the big moment of the evening as they cut their anniversary cake.

Mrs Lyn Davis, Patutahi, was the winner of the recent Radio Gisborne Commercial Clangers competition, which was to pick out the deliberate errors broadcast over a series of commercials in one week. She won the $100 prize from hundreds of other entrants Mrs Davis, with daughter Belinda, receives her cheque from programme organiser John McLean.
