An Era Past

A reminder of the days of the steam engine, the water tank, still stands at the Muriwai Railway Station. Water tanks were a familiar sight in the days of the coal-fired engines as former passengers, as well as older residents of Muriwai, Makaraka, Te Karaka and other erstwhile stations in the area will remember.
