Mr and Mrs Kenneth Mackay, Oak Street, celebrated their golden wedding on October 10. The Mackays, who came out to New Zealand from Scotland in 1920, were married in Helenburgh in 1913. Mr Mackay was a builder by trade and the couple spent their first 33 years in New Zealand at Tokomaru Bay. They retired to Gisborne in 1953. Mr Mackay has been a very active Freemason all his life and was a foundation member of Lodge Waiapu in Tokomaru Bay in 1922.
