A happy coincidence occurred in connection with the Meyer-Farnum wedding at the top of the page. At the wedding were, from left, at back, the grandmother of the bride, Mrs Anne Maher (Rotorua, and formerly of Gisborne), and her bridesmaid, Mrs Ethel Burson (Abbott Street), the mother of the bride, Mrs Phyllis Farnum and her three bridesmaids, Mesdames Mary Gavin (Maki Street), Marie Fisher (Motu), and Elsie Samuel (Atkinson Street). In front of course, is the bride with her maids as named above. Not only that but all, excepting the bride, were married in Gisborne at St Mary's Star of the Sea!
