Best Yet!
The best crowd yet to attend the annual Poverty Bay Agricultural and Pastoral Association Show poured through the gates over the two days of the event this year. More than 20,000 people were estimated to have visited the show, due in no small measure to the very warm and pleasant weather.

The Home Industries section attracted large crowds, especially on the second day, who took a great deal of interest in the C.W.I. courts. First prize in this section was won by the Otoko branch. It is entitled "Preparing For C.W.I. Day."
Miss N. Cotterill, who has been associated with the home industries for more than 34 years, has retired as head of the open section
The new head of the open section is Mrs M. G. Tombleson. She is holding some of the outstanding fine crochet work entered by Mrs M. R.Branscombe, who is aged 94.
C.W.I. stewards this year were Mesdames D. Batcheldor (Taruheru), J. Rickard (Tamarau) R. Atkins (Patutahi) and E. Bacon (Taruheru).
Tamarau C.W.I. took second place in the courts with "Tuesday's Ironing Day."

All the fun of the fair and sideshow alley can be seen in the faces of these children as they ride the rides and, BELOW, enjoy the oceans of candyfloss that abounded on the day.
