Lion Governor's Visit

Departing for Auckland

The Poverty Bay Golf Club was presented with six golf ball washers recently by Leopard Brewery Ltd. The plunger-type cleaners make quick work of cleaning dirt off golf balls — which, in turn, should mean a marked reduction in hooks and slices (?). It's usually the extra weight of the dirt which causes hooks and slices, isn't it? Leopard Brewery Gisborne manager Paul Sceats (left) is pictured with Golf Club president Jock Corson as they try out one of the washers.

Mrs H. D. Humphrey leaves Gisborne to make her home in Auckland. She has sold her home, "Tukaputahi", at 87 The Esplanade, which she and her husband built 32 years ago. The handsome residence is aptly named as it is situated right opposite "the meeting of the waters". Mrs Humphrey (left) is pictured with Mrs E. L. Hindmarsh. Mr and Mrs Hindmarsh are the new owners of the residence.
