Julie Kearney, 17-year-old daughter of Mr and Mrs Dick Kearney, Cheeseman Road, is the only Gisborne American Field Service student selected for a year overseas this year. She will spend that time with the Radley family at Cape Vincent, in New York State, and attend the Thousand Islands High School, which has a traditional curriculum, the emphasis of which is on mathematics, science and foreign languages.
