Up She Goes
In these days when building costs seem to be forever going up, perhaps it really might be cheaper to put the house up instead. Anyway, the Nelson residence in Grundy Street is receiving this treatment.
The original house was lifted to the back of the section, in one piece, while a new first floor in concrete block was constructed on the original site.
The house was then lifted up, brought forward and placed on top, thereby doubling house space and giving a virtually new two-storied structure, in place of one.
