Air Training Corps members Under Officer Alistair McMillan (left) and Squadron Leader Andy King have just returned home from a three-week International Air Cadet exchange visit to the U.S.A. Squadron Leader King was Escort Officer for the five New Zealand cadets who went on the trip.
Places visited included Washington, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and, in Houston, the National Aeronautics Space Administration centre

The Queen's Colours were paraded at Ohakea recently after being handed over at the R.N.Z.A.F. base at Woodbourne. On the far right is Flight Sergeant Colin Carmichael, son of Mr and Mrs C. Carmichael, Hastings, and formerly of Gisborne. Colin, who was born in Gisborne and educated at the Gisborne and Napier Boys High Schools, was awarded the British Empire Medal, military division, in the recent Queen's Birthday Honours List.

Gisborne Rotary Club's exchange student, Heidi Madsen, has returned to Denmark after her year in Gisborne. Heidi, who attended Lytton High, is pictured at a tea meeting where she was guest of honour, with, from left, host Ian Robinson, immediate past president Wynn Ellis and present president Geoff Musgrave.
