The scene on the back Ormond Road at Hexton, where a new bridge is being built over the Wharu stream. In the foreground are some of the reinforced concrete piles which will carry the new structure, while at the crossing itself the pile driving derrick is seen in position.
While the bridge is being built, traffic is using a deviation road which leaves the main road a quartermile to the south.

Kumara crops are producing good yields this year. These two fine specimens came from the garden of Mrs M. Bell, of 294 Aberdeen Road. The larger one, as the scales show, weighed 4½lb.

At the entrance to Gisborne harbour, the camera captures a familiar scene as a fishing boat, the Gaylene, enters the channel.
