Popular Girl Contest

This year, the national basketball championships are to be held at Gisborne in August, when the town will be literally full of girls from all parts of New Zealand. Such an occasion throws a heavy load on the P.B. Basketball Association. Tournaments cost a lot of money to run, the "gate" is often disappointing, and in addition there will be much expense in bringing the courts up to standard. To help defray these expenses, the association is running a "Popular Girl" contest, and on this page we print the four candidates, whose committees are already hard at work raising the wind.
