District Governor Installed

Messrs Knox And Tucker Farewelled

Two long serving members of Gisbome Sheepfarmers Ltd, Messrs Gordon Tucker and Eric Knox, were farewelled at a staff and guests' gathering on the eve of their retirement. Mr Tucker has retired as head of the wool department after 26 years' service, and Mr Knox has retired from the position of credit manager after 45 years' service, including many years at Tokomaru and Tolaga Bays. Mr Knox was presented with a large, handsome lounging chair, while Mr Tucker was presented with a record player.

Gisbome Rotary Club member Mr A. H. (Bill) De Costa was installed as the new District Governor of Rotary recently. The installation took place at a combined dinner and cabaret evening held in the Boys High School Assembly Hall. Mr De Costa (second from right) is pictured with three former district governors. They are, from left, Messrs C. A. Smith, B. Bradshaw and Colonel R. F, Gambrill.

Reece Nicoll, son of Mr and Mrs R. M. Nicoll, 17 Marian Drive, has graduated from Canterbury University with a B. E. (Chem) hons degree. An ex-Boys High School student, Reece is now with the Wool Research Organisation in Christchurch.
