Controller Retires

×

After 30 years' association with traffic control at the Gisborne Airport, Mr Bob Greening has retired. After leaving the R.N.Z.A.F. through injury during the war, Mr Greening joined the then Civil Aviation branch of the Air Department and has been air traffic controller ever since. He has seen Gisborne's airport progress from grass field to sealed runway, and from handling Tiger Moths to helicopters and Fokker Friendships. Bob Greening looks forward to his retirement where he can indulge in his favourite pastimes of bowls and fishing.
