A Bath in the Bush

The improvements planned for the Morere Hot Springs Reserve are now underway, with a contract having been let for the first stage. This is for two new public pools which will replace the three private pools at the top of the bush walk. These are expected to be ready by next summer.

This sketch, by the designer, architect Colin Pilbrow, shows the new pools, which will include showers and changing rooms. Now under the control of the Lands and Survey Department, further improvements envisaged for the reserve are more bush walks, trout pools in the stream, and resurfacing of the present public pools.
