First Convention

The first registered N.Z. Master Ladies' Hairdressers Convention was held in Gisborne on February 24 and 25. A full programme of business management, hair care, and sales methods was undertaken.

Guest speakers, from Sydney, Australia, for the convention were Vincent De Lorenzo, trichologist and cosmetic chemist (left), and Bruce Cortaville, business consultant and adviser to the professional hairdresser. They are shown with Mrs Ann Petherick (N.Z.M.L.H. Association National president).

The convention was opened by the Mayor and Mrs Barker, who are pictured with Mrs Bartie and Mrs Jill Stewart (assistant secretary of the convention committee).
