Champion Of Championship Fours

The finals of the district champion of championship fours were played at the Kahutia Club this season. The Kahutia team won the day from the United Services four.

Waikato Visitors

Another touring team to visit Gisborne recently was the Northland Centre Touring Party. They started their Gisborne visit at the Gisborne Bowling Club's greens where they were officially welcomed by Mayor Harry Barker.

In the junior champion of championship fours, a good contest also found Kahutia as the winning team. They are, from left, Peter Lindsey (lead), Alf Gibson (2), Trevor McCarthy (3) and Rod Smith (skip).

Members of the Waikato/Thames Valley Centre spent some time on a bowling visit to Gisborne recently and had a very pleasant time here. At the welcome to the visitors the speakers were, from left, John McGaveston (centre secretary), Ted Williams (president), Waikato/Thames Valley president Jack Bradley, Mayor Harry Barker and Waikato/Thames Valley junior vice-president Norm Phelps.
