Waipaoa Grandfather
This grand-daddy of all eels was speared, by Percy Manuel (left) and Raani Anderson, in the Waipaoa River, recently. The 231b monster was speared by Percy but needed Raani, with another spear, to get it out of the water. The two men are verynroud of their catch and look forward to some good feeds too during the winter — marvellous things, deep-freezes!
